Francis L. "Skip" Kramer

SMETHPORT, Pa. - Francis L. "Skip" Kramer, 67, of Smethport, died Saturday (July 19, 2014) at his residence in Smethport.

He was born April 12, 1947, in Bradford, a son of Truman and Sarah Cole Kramer. On Aug. 20, 1977, in Portville, N.Y., he married Evelyn E. Young, who survives.

Mr. Kramer was a graduate of Bradford High School, and had been employed by the Smethport Borough for 18 years, leaving as superintendent. He worked for Costa's Hardware for 13 years and he also worked as a self-employed mechanic, owning and operating Kramer's Repair Shop in Smethport.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Laurie Gullett of Jamestown, N.Y., and Patty McLean of Everett, Wash.; a son, Frank (Crysta) Kramer of Cyclone; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Susanne (Melvin) Easton of Kane; several nieces and nephews; and special nieces, Rose, Linda, Jessie and Kelly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Joseph Kramer; and a sister, Alice June Irvin.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (July 25, 2014) at the Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating.
