Grace Beck Starr

BOLIVAR - Grace Beck Starr, 96, of 65 Belmont St., died Monday (Jan. 28, 2013) at Wellsville Manor Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Born April 30, 1916, in Knox, Pa., she was a daughter of Willis A. and Mildred J. Hunter Beck. On Aug. 10, 1940, in Bath, she married Raymond D. Starr, who died July 31, 1994.
Mrs. Starr resided most of her life in the Bolivar area and was a graduate of Bolivar Central School. She graduated in 1938 from Griffith Beauty School in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Starr was a licensed hairdresser in Pennsylvania and New York. For many years, she was a hairdresser in the Bolivar area, and she was the owner-operator of a beauty shop in Richburg for several years. She retired in the early 1950s.
Mrs. Starr enjoyed bowling, traveling and her family.
She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church, 4 C's Senior Citizens Club of Richburg and a past member of the Buttrick Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bolivar.
Surviving are two sons, Richard R. (Marlene) Starr of Macedon and Kenneth Jack Starr of Arcadia, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Maxson of Wellsville and Martha Converse of Massena; a sister-in-law, Betty Beck of Wellsville; several nieces and nephews; and four special friends, Tom and Sue Jordan of Bolivar and Lud and Barb Delity of Bolivar.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Beck and Merl Beck.
There will be no visitations, funeral or graveside services. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
