San Benito, Texas — José Humberto Castillo, de 69 años, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar el 17 de octubre de 2025, rodeado de su amada familia. Nació el 18 de marzo de 1956 en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México, hijo de los ya fallecidos Abraham Castillo y Eloisa Martínez.
José hizo su hogar en San Benito, donde construyó una vida llena de amor, fe y dedicación hacia su familia. Fue un esposo, padre, abuelo y hermano ejemplar, conocido por su bondad, sentido del humor y su espíritu trabajador que tocó la vida de todos los que lo conocieron.
Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Gloria Velazquez; su hermana, Santa Esperanza Castillo; y sus hijos, Claudia Castillo, Abraham Castillo, Edgar I. Velasquez, Roxana Castillo, Jessica Castillo, Jannet Castillo, y José Humberto Castillo Jr. También le sobreviven numerosos nietos, quienes fueron su mayor orgullo y alegría.
José será recordado por su generosidad, fortaleza y profundo amor por su familia. Su presencia será profundamente extrañada, pero su memoria vivirá para siempre en los corazones de quienes lo amaron.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo el 22 de octubre de 2025 de 3:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., con un servicio de oración dirigido por el pastor Cavazos a las 7:00 p.m en la Funeraria Trinity del Espíritu Santo.
El servicio religioso comenzará a las 12:00 p.m. de 23 de octubre de 2025 en la Funeraria Trinity.
El entierro tendrá lugar en el Cementerio Las Rusias.

San Benito, Texas — José Humberto Castillo, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 18, 1956, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to the late Abraham Castillo and Eloisa Martínez.
José made his home in San Benito, where he built a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to his family. He was an exemplary husband, father, grandfather, and brother, known for his kindness, sense of humor, and hardworking spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Velazquez; his sister, Santa Esperanza Castillo; and his children, Claudia Castillo, Abraham Castillo, Edgar I. Velasquez, Roxana Castillo, Jessica Castillo, Jannet Castillo, and José Humberto Castillo Jr. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, who were his greatest pride and joy.
José will be remembered for his generosity, strength, and deep love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
May he rest in peace.
Visitation will be held on October 22, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service led by Pastor Cavazos at 7:00 PM at Trinity Funeral Home of the Holy Spirit.
A chapel service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on October 23, 2025, at Trinity Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Las Rusias Cemetery.
