Kevin Slavin Obituary
COMMERCIAL POINT, Ohio - Kevin Michael Slavin, 60, of Commercial Point, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Mount Carmel Grove City.
He was born in Olean, N.Y. to the late William and Nancy Barron Slavin. He is survived by his wife Debra, who he married on May 8, 2003.
Kevin graduated with his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Gannon University.
He went on to work in logistics for Walmart for almost 25 years.
When he wasn't working, Kevin liked to go shopping with his wife and find a good deal. He was an enthusiastic sports fan. He enjoyed playing hockey, tennis and golf. He watched all manner of sports, especially golf, the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres.
He shared a special fondness for chocolate with his daughter Hana, hiding all evidence from Debbie. Kevin was passionately invested in his grandchildren, as a coach, sponsor and fan of all their interests.
He loved his dogs, spending time training each of them. He pursued all of his interests with focus and intensity. Kevin brought that same enthusiasm to enjoying life.
Along with his loving wife, those left to cherish memories of Kevin include children, Benjamin Slavin, Rayne Slavin, Matthew (Lauren) Slavin and Hana Slavin; stepdaughters, Stephanie (Cody) Wood and Lisa Neiser; grandchildren, Jackson Neiser, Lillian Neiser, Joshua Neiser, Lila Neiser, Hudson Wood, Owen Wood, Cassy Slavin, Oliver Slavin and Noah Slavin; brother, Kristopher (Tharaha) Slavin; and many other family members and friends.
Along with his parents, Kevin is preceded in death by his sister, Kelly Slavin.
Immediate family greeted friends and family from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday (March 24, 2026) at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions-Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. A service to honor Kevin's life was held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation to follow at a later date.
The Newcomer family is honored to serve the Slavin family.
