Mark Phillips Obituary
VENICE, Fla. - Mark William Phillips, 71, beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother, passed away unexpectedly Monday (Oct. 17, 2022) after a brief battle with pneumonia.
Born March 26, 1951, in Olean, N.Y., he was the oldest child of the late Helen Krywy Phillips and Gordon Phillips.
He attended the University of Miami before moving back home to Olean, eager to start his business career.
He soon joined American Olean Tile Company, which was run by his grandfather, working at several of the company's locations around the U.S.
Several years later, Mark moved to Florida to join the family business at Coast Pump Water Technologies, a Venice-based wholesale distributor, where he was a key leader in the company's growth for more than 30 years. He was a born salesman, and was known as a people person who loved building relationships with those he worked with.
Mark lived most of his adult life in Sarasota and Charleston, S.C.
Mark was a lifelong golfer, proud Bills fan and master of the grill. He loved cracking jokes, trying new recipes - the spicier, the better - and spending time with his family. He was quick to laugh and share a story, and he had an easygoing nature, except when it came to his golf game.
He was well-loved and well-respected, and he is missed already. His loved ones are left with an immense hole in their hearts, but his charming smile and the wonderful memories created together will last forever.
Mark is survived by his wife, Kimberly Phillips; children, Adam (Jen) Phillips and Erin (Alex) Oliveira; his stepchildren, Jonathan (Gina) Garrett and Kinsley Garrett; his grandchildren, Luka, Raeleigh, Kamila, Avery, Jax, Savannah, Phoenix, Ames and Hadley; his sister, Michael LeRoy; his brothers, Mitchell Phillips and Matthew Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Krywy; his grandson, Kyle Oliveira; his niece, Rebecca Painter; and his brother-in-law, Jim LeRoy.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1301 Center Road, Venice.

I only met Mark a few years ago thru some golf buddies . He was such a great guy. My heart is broken that I will not see him any longer. I would be in Florida for a month every year and loved playing golf and talking with Mark. My deepest sympathies to your family.
