Michael Kewley Obituary
SEATTLE, Wash. - Michael T. Kewley, 61, passed away on Nov. 3, 2021, following a short illness, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, surrounded by his wife, daughters and sisters.
He was born Aug. 24, 1960, in Rochester N.Y., son of John and Esther Cowles Kewley. In Allegany, N.Y., in 1985, he married the love of his life, Lorrie Blocher.
Michael was a 1979 graduate of Olean (N.Y.) High School. Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1979 and retired in 2000, after having served honorably.
He had several jobs until 2007, when he became a Washington State correctional officer, retiring due to ill health in 2021.
He was survived by his wife, Lorrie Blocher Kewley; daughters, Dana (Brandon) Roth of Salamanca N.Y., Christine Kewley of Clarksville, Tenn. and Mary (Bryan) Spalding of Carnation; brother, John Kewley of Grand Pairie, Texas; sisters, Sharon (Michael) Crowley of Eldred, Pa. and Kathleen (Thomas) Beckman of Navarra, Fla.; father-in-law, Donald Blocher of Salamanca; step-sister, Sandra (William) Lowe of Rochester; grandchildren, Landon, Aurora Easton, Helena, Nora, and Jordan, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Ophelia.
A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. July 9, 2022 at Riverhurst Park, 1265 Olean Portville Road, Olean.

My brother was the best friend ive ever had! Ive looked out for his safety since we were youngsters growing up in Rochester NY. I´ll never forget when he and I and about a half dozen friends climbed down and back up the waterfalls on the Genesee river at driving park ave. There were good times. I miss you brother and think of you daily. Your loving big brother. BUD
