Phyllis Preston Obituary
FRANKLINVILLE - Phyllis E. Preston, of Pennsylvania Avenue, passed away Thursday (Sept. 26, 2024) at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Machias.
Phyllis was born July 17, 1928, in Arcade, and was the daughter of Clyde L. and Hyla Warner Blackmon. On July 20, 1945, in Franklinville, she married Royal J. Preston who predeceased her Jan. 19, 2020.
Phyllis was a 1945 graduate of Rushford High School and worked for Motorola in Arcade for 27 years. She also worked for Aero Vox in Franklinville and R.G. Mason Auctions.
Phyllis was a member of the Franklinville, Rushford and Arcade Senior Citizens Club.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Richard (Nancy) Preston of Asheville, N.C. and Dale (Debbie) Preston of Fillmore; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Royal; three daughters, Connie Morris, Mary Decker and Bonnie Morris; three sisters, Gwendolyn McGill, Marilyn Pennell and Vera Pierce; and one grandchild, Hyla McCall.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. today (Oct. 1, 2024) at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main S., Franklinville, at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev. Jerry Clark, pastor of Rawson Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery, Freedom.
Memorials may be made to the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Fund at P.O. Box 74, Franklinville, NY 14737.
