Robert G. Burlin

1935 - 2012

SALAMANCA - Robert G. Burlin, 76, of 517 E. State St., Salamanca, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 7, 2012) at Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, following a long illness.
Born on Dec. 12, 1935, in Salamanca, he was a son of the late Lee and Isabell John Burlin. He was married on Oct. 29, 1955, in the Holy Cross Church, to the former Sharon Raines.
Mr. Burlin was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1954 to 1968. He was employed as a supervisor for Argonaut Supreme Commercial Building, retiring in 2009.
Mr. Burlin was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1002, the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post No. 5296.
Surviving are six children, Robert F. Burlin of California, Theresa A. Burlin of Salamanca, Mark (Theresia) Burlin of LaPlace, La., Michael D. (Ronda) Burlin of Salamanca, Tina (Russell) Sansbury of Gonzales, La., and Michelle Oxmann of Dundalk, Md.; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Parsons of Great Valley, Beverly Fuller of Killbuck and Nancy Milspaw of Jamestown; a brother, Fred (Jerry) Burlin of Utica; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons, Craig A. Burlin and Curt C. Burlin; and two sisters, Carol DePonceau and Cora Emborsky.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, N.Y., on Saturday (Nov. 10, 2012) from 4 to 7 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held with Pastor Tim Griffith, of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post No. 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post No. 5296.
