Stanley 'Stan' Adamowicz
CENTERVILLE - Stanley Adamowicz, of 11088 Marsh Road, Bealeton, Va., and a former resident of Centerville and Fillmore, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024.
He was born Sept. 10, 1943, in Bath, the beloved son of the late Stanley Adamowicz and Mary Adamowicz, and was predeceased by his first wife, Diana Adamowicz.
Stan was born and raised in Bath and graduated from Haverling Central School in 1961. Following graduation, he proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps until March 1966.
After completing his military service, Stan married Diana and worked in the Buffalo area for several years before moving to Allegany County, where he worked as general contractor through Glen Phillippi Lumber Company, dedicating nearly 30 years to his craft until retiring due to injury.
In 2000, Stan relocated to Virginia to be closer to his eldest son Matthew and his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
While living in Virginia, Stan was an active member and historian of the American Legion Post 72 for many years, where he enjoyed time with fellow veterans on the golf course and at the Post, including taking lead on the grill for "steak night" almost weekly.
Stan loved playing and watching golf, cheering on his beloved Buffalo Bills, but most of all spending quality time with his family and friends across the country. His warmth, humor and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met, creating connections that enriched countless lives.
Stan's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing and a comfort to those who mourn his passing.
