Terrence Archbold Obituary
FRIENDSHIP – Terrence M. "Terry" Archbold, 72, passed away on Monday (September 2, 2024) in Olean during a brief hospital stay.
Mr. Archbold served in the United States Army from 1969-1971. Afterwards, he was an over-the-road truck driver, mostly for Pride Transport of Salt Lake City. After a decade-long relationship, on July 2, 2011 Terry married Anna Southwick, who survives.
Along with his wife of 13 years, Terry is survived by children, Jady Burdick and Dennis Southwick of Friendship; one sibling, Randy (Sue) Archbold of Kanab, Utah; four grandchildren, Brandon Burdick, Joel Burdick, Noah Southwick and Emily Southwick; a niece, Erin (Phil) Silman of Murietta Calif.; a nephew Ethan (Netta) Archbold of Kanab, Utah; a life-long friend, Steve Massey of Calif.; a great friend Lee M. Sadler, Sr., that introduced Terry to Anna; a great niece, and several great nephews and cousins.
Terry was predeceased by his father, Albert (Catherine) Archbold, his mother, Willy (James) King, and two sisters, Sandra Archbold and Leslie (Michael) Thompson.
Terry took his responsibility toward family very seriously; he never used the title "step" when talking of his children or grandchildren and he was "Dad" or "Pop" to each one. Jady devoted five years of her life as a home-based care-giver to Terry.
Terry enjoyed driving any type of vehicle, including ATV's, Hot Rods, pick-up trucks, and semis. He was also a former member of the Friendship American Legion.
Terry was a loving and funny man who earned the label of "Chatty Cathy." He was a great conversationalist and just loved getting to know people.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at the Friendship American Legion on Saturday, (September 21) from 2–4 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend and to share their wonderful memories of Terry. A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Monday (September 23) at 11:00 a.m. at Bath National Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Treusdell Funeral Home in Friendship.
