Latimer

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alberta "Bert" Latimer on November 29, 2025, in Queen Creek, Arizona, at the age of 94. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, on November 22, 1931, Bert was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose life was defined by her unwavering love for family and her independent spirit.

Bert was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Albert and Mildred Glup, as well as her brothers, Daniel and Dale Glup, her sister, Patty Marescalco, and her cherished daughter, Diane Fortenbury. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through her surviving siblings: Babe Petrashek, Shirley Huse, and Bunnie Gronborg. Bert was a proud mother to Jeaneanne Simpson and Desiree Schrader, who will forever honor her memory, and she delighted in the company of her grandchildren: Cindy Stella, Jeff Smith, Lori Pekarek, and A.J. Schrader, in addition to her great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Alberta retired from AT&T after many hard-working years, enjoying her time with her family and friends.

In this time of sorrow, we extend our heartfelt condolences to all who are affected by her passing. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort as we hold onto the love she gave.

Rest in peace, Alberta Latimer. You will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Omaha, Nebraska.

Aunt Bert was truly a wonder and always a delight to be around. We called her the "fun" aunt because she was so full of personality, laughter, and life. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the family-she will be deeply missed. Rest in joy and peace, Aunt Bert.
