Alfred A Riedmann, Jr., born June 12, 1928, peacefully passed away February 8th, 2021 having lived a full and vibrant life.

Alfred, also known as Al or "Big Al," was born in South Omaha to Alfred Sr. and Francis Vacek and was proud of his roots and heritage. Big Al was one of eight children. Two survive: Irene Van Moorleghem and Lou Riedmann.

Al was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Simpson Riedmann, and by his siblings: Lory Riedmann, George Riedmann, Madge Panowicz, Ruth Elsasser and Francis Quistad. After a tour in the US Marines, Al began his career in the family business, Willow Springs Bottling. He then spent most of his business life (over 44 years) in real estate finishing his career with the NP Dodge Company. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 49 years and touched many lives through this program.

Al was known for his unending curiosity about most things in life... and could talk to you about a myriad of topics but especially Omaha, farms and he had to be the originator of "Dad jokes. Al will be remembered by many to as the guy who always handed out chocolates or gold dollars.

Most of all Al loved and was proud of his six children who he leaves behind: Michael Riedmann (Coleen), Lorene Magoulas (Mike), Alfred Riedmann III (Krissy), Mary Kay Hansen (Dave), Shirley Manthey (Rick) and Theresa Johnson (Jay). He also treasured his 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Al had numerous friends in many areas in his life and especially Mickey Bassler.

SERVICE: Friday, February 12, 2021, at Waters Edge Church, 19600 Harrison, Gretna, NE 68028. Family will receive visitors at 10am with the service to begin at 11am and a luncheon in the church meeting hall afterwards. The service will be broadcast online at www.YouTube.com/WEOmaha and www.Facebook.com/WEOmaha. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to Waters Edge Church (19600 Harrison, Gretna, NE 68028) or Siena Francis House (1702 Nicholas St., Omaha, NE 68102).

I loved Al! He was such a kind, generous soul. He handed out chocolates to all the residents of Legacy. Everyone loved his sense of humor. He was a great ambassador who welcomed all new residents. He will be missed.

Our prayers and condolences for the entire family. Big Al touched so many and there are too many good memories to expound on. He was just the best and made our families lives better. Sadly missed but his legacy will be remembered lovingly.
