Barbara A. "Barb" Fitzwater, 86, of Waterloo, NE, passed away November 9, 2025. She met her husband Phillip David Fitzwater while attending Omaha South High School, both graduating in 1956. Together they owned and operated A-1 Forklift Sales and Services where she was known as "Little Boss." She was preceded in death by Phillip in 2013 and by her brother, Andy Holbeck, Jr. Barb is survived by son, Richard (Mary) Fitzwater of Des Moines, IA; daughters, Belinda (Todd) Maxwell of Pennsylvania, Susan (Bill) Kaufhold of Omaha, and Patty (Jerry) Shepherd of Waterloo, NE; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Juli Mailey.
Funeral service 11 a.m., Thursday, at Peace Presbyterian Church, Elkhorn, with a lunch to follow. Interment Prospect Hill Cemetery, Elkhorn. Visitation Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m., at Reichmuth Funeral Home, Elkhorn. Memorials to Peace Presbyterian or the family.

My husband and Phil were friends growing up on 13th street. Barb was a wonderful scout leader. She was a pistol and so much fun back in the day. Met her and her family when they lived on Vinton Street even thro Bob know Phil forever. The Fitzwater family will always be in our prayers. She and the love of her live is with God enjoying the things they did when they were young RIP my friend.

In 1971 and 1972 I worked as a cashier at Johnson Cashway Lumber on 24th and Oak. Barb was a very frequent customer as her business,
A-1 Forklift, was just a few blocks away. My memory of her from just the short time I worked there is how very spunky and sharp she always was. I was only 18 when I worked there but still remember her. My sincere condolences to Barb's family.
