Barbara Stephenson Obituary

Barbara Rose Beadle was born April 6, 1936, in Omaha, the second child of Scott and Clara Beadle. She graduated from North Bend High School in 1954 and from the University of Nebraska in 1958. After her college graduation she married Jack Lemon, with whom she had three children.

Barb was a home economics teacher for many years, largely in Palmyra, as well as a longtime volunteer at Midlands Hospital in Papillion. She was a devoted fan of University of Nebraska volleyball and football. She was also a talented painter, especially of Nebraska landscapes. Barb enjoyed spending time at her cabin on the Platte River and valued time with family above all else.

When asked how she would like to be remembered, Barb answered: "God blessed me with a wonderful life-with a great, loving family and many real friends."

She is survived by brother David Beadle of Bullard, Texas; children Lona Meyer and husband Mark Meyer of Wakefield, Nebraska, Lisa Lemon and wife Elizabeth Sedrel of Des Moines, Iowa, and Scott Lemon and wife Mary Lemon of Monroe, North Carolina; grandchildren Tucker Nichols of Chicago, Illinois, and Riley Nichols of Lincoln, Nebraska; and nephews Michael Beadle and wife Brenda Beadle of Bullard, Texas, Daniel Beadle of Denver, Colorado, and Andrew Beadle and wife Michelle Beadle of Middletown, Maryland.

Barb passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025. She was laid to rest with her parents at Cedar Dale Cemetery in Papillion.
