Some of youespecially those of yall who are related to memay recall my announcement a couple of years back about the passing of my maternal cousin Arthur Harpst, retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer.
Some of youonce again my relatives in particularmay also recall that I had a paternal cousin, Clinton Orr (grew up on the farm in Nebraska with my Dad, the eventual WWII Marine), who was a Navy submariner in WWII.
Clinton and I stayed in touch via snail-mail (I know, right; what an old-school concept!) over the years, but alas, I lost touch with him roughly 15 years ago.
Shame, shame, shame on me for not looking into this much, much sooner.....but anyway, I finally did some digging on the Web, and found out through this article that Cousin Clinton passed away back in 2014 at the ripe old age of 90; he ended up outliving my Dad (R.I.P.) by 4 years.
Belated R.I.P. and God bless, Cousin Clinton Orr, til Valhalla; fair winds and following seas, sailor. ✝
