Connie was born in Omaha, NE. She was raised in Omaha and was a life-long University of Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Following graduation from Benson High School, Connie moved to Washington, D.C. where she met her husband, Thomas L. O'Hanlon. They were married on November 6, 1945. Tom and Connie moved to to Dallas in the late 50's and Dallas was her home until 2010. She moved to Austin last May to be near her sons and their families. Connie enjoyed a successful career in retail and developed long-term relationships with many of her customers. She found outlets for her boundless creativity through interior design, gardening, painting and sculpture. She was passionate about animal rights and environmental issues and donated both her time and money to these causes. Connie was preceeded in death by her parents, O'Neal and Alma Hamilton; her husband, Thomas L. O'Hanlon ; her sister Jeanine (Mimi) Hamilton McCoy. She is survived by her sons Timothy O'Hanlon and his wife Nancy of Columbus, OH, Kevin O'Hanlon and his wife Priscilla Lozano of Austin and Kerry O'Hanlon and his wife Mary Beth of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew O'Hanlon of Columbus, OH, Erin Carlyle of Houston, TX, Caitlin O'Hanlon of Austin and Lubbock and Morgan O'Hanlon of Austin and her great-grandchildren Callie and Jackson Carlyle of Houston.
The family expresses its sincere thanks to Connie's many friends in Dallas. A special thanks goes to her long-time friends Esther Coneff, Esther Gebhardt and Irene Clancey. Thanks also to the staff of Emeritus Summerville in Dallas for your care and support of our mom during her last few years in Dallas.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE is planned for 3pm Saturday, February 26th at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, Greenville Avenue at Restland Road, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Austin or to the animial protection agency of your choice.
