David Gambal Obituary

Dr. David Gambal PHD ended his career as a biochemist, a giving father, and a loving husband on January 3rd, 2023. He was 91 years old!
He was born on December 16, 1931, in Old Forge Pennsylvania, a coal mining town, the son of Even and Alice (Witiak) Gambal. He attended Penn State and Purdue Universities.
He was a professor at Johns Hopkins University for 2 years. There he met his wife Anne Warfield. He was a professor at Iowa State University for 3 years. He then became a 35 year tenured professor/researcher of Biochemistry at Creighton University School of Medicine. During that time he did research at the National Institute of Health. He enjoyed his work along with his time away from work. His favorite pastime was water skiing, which he enjoyed with his family. At the ripe age of 87 was his last family ski trip. His desire to help others and his lust for life shone through to the very end. He was an active member of Saint Andrews Church. He was loved and will be missed by his surviving wife of 62 years Anne; sisters, Jeannie, and Gloria; and sons, Mark, Scott and Todd.
VISITATION and CHURCH SERVICE will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Monday, January 9th,at 12:30pm.
