DeEmmett Zerbe Obituary
August 10, 1925 - October 19, 2025
Omaha native, De Zerbe lived a life that touched everyone he met with joy.
He had many inherent gifts to share. One of which was storytelling, particularly about his time serving in the army during WWII (Italy and Germany). He was a highly decorated soldier and a proud veteran.
Before entering the army, he graduated from Central High School. Upon returning to Omaha, he attended and graduated from UNO.
He married his beloved wife, Maxine Dolan, in 1949. They were married for over 75 years before she passed in 2024.
Our family believes there has never been an individual more devoted to family than that of De.
He will always be in the hearts of his children, Carol Zerbe (Jim Folsom) and David (Diane Zerbe); grandchildren, Frances (Jim Ramsey), Lorne (Tom Murphy), Benjamin (Andrea Zerbe), Bethany (Joe Osovski), and Katherine (Marcus Schademann); great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Clara Ramsey, Matthew, Paige, and Emme Murphy, Peyton Osovski, Maxine Schademann, and Natalie Zerbe.
We send our gratitude to the Ovation Assisted Living staff as well as Suncrest Hospice for their care and support.
A PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE will be held graveside.
Memorials may be directed, in lieu of flowers, to: Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Service Trust.

Ohh, a heart felt sorrow that is bitter sweet for 'De's family. A deep respect for De as a well loved centenarian, he lived a long time and into his second century before being called home to our Holy Father. May your family be blessed with His Heavenly hugAMEN
