Donald Dickmeyer Obituary

Donald Lee Dickmeyer

October 6, 1945 - November 1, 2025

Donald Lee Dickmeyer, 80, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at Brookestone Meadows in Elkhorn, NE.

Don was born on October 6, 1945, in Arlington, NE, to Alfred and Anne Dickmeyer, where he grew up and spent his formative years.

In 1970, Don married Patricia Brownlee, and together they shared 29 years of love, laughter, and family before her passing in 1999. They enjoyed raising their children in Millard, NE, where they both actively supported and led many athletic programs. Don dedicated 45 years of his career to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Don was known for his sense of humor, dedication to helping others, strong work ethic, and active participation in growing the Millard Athletic Association baseball program. He will be remembered for his quiet, caring spirit, his jokes, and his unwavering devotion to his family.

Don is survived by his daughter, Cheri Reddick; his sons, Mike and Heidi Dickmeyer and Jerry Dickmeyer; his grandchildren, Lauren and Olivia Reddick, Michael, Kenzie, Kaitlyn, Haley, and Zach Dickmeyer; and his brothers, Ron and Carol Dickmeyer, Steve and Jo Dickmeyer; and sister, Vicky Shurtleff.

Preceded by his sister, Sharon Graver.

The family will hold a CELEBRATION OF LIFE ceremony on November 15, 2025, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 17007 Q St., Omaha, NE 68135, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Pat Dickmeyer Memorial Scholarship Fund, an endowment that was exceptionally meaningful to Don.

Sorry to read about Don's passing. I will always remember the family reunions in Arlington and the ball games as kids so many years past. Don
