Age 74
Fort Calhoun, NE. Lifelong member of Knights of Columbus. Preceded in death by granddaughter Cassidy Marie Dethlefs, and son-in-law Tony Liles. Survived by wife Gerrie, Ft. Calhoun; daughter Jean Marie Liles, Bellevue; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Karen Dethlefs, Roger and Jill Dethlefs, Matt and Jennifer Dethlefs, all of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Alastair Connell, Williamsburg, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Janice Dethlefs, Omaha, and Richard and Kathy Dethlefs, Tulsa, OK; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION Monday 4-8pm, with Vigil Service at 7pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ft. Calhoun, NE. FUNERAL MASS Tuesday 10am, also at St. John's. Interment Ft. Calhoun Cemetery. Memorials to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Schwertley Scholarship Fund. SIEVERS-SPRICK

I am so Sorry I just can't believe it I know he is in the care of all angels and saints and we will miss him dearly! He will not be in the church kitchen cooking fish on fridays but he will be watching over us!

Gerrie and family, We were so shocked to hear about Duane after seeing him at the hospital last week,thought he seemed good that night.He was looking forward to going home the next day. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the kids. If there is anything we can do , please let us know.

Dear Gerrie and Family, On behalf of the August Dethlefs cousins and families, we send our deepest, heartfelt sympathy. As I shared the news of our loss with cousins from here to Idaho and Arizona, one sentiment came through. We are so happy for the reunions and the chance to get reacquainted with Duane. We all loved him so much. He was a wonderful man. Our love and prayers go to each of you.

We just heard of Duane's passing.
How sad I am that we were not able to live closer as we were raised together and shared so much as kids.
