Age 92 - June 5, 2023
Preceded by husband, Robert D.; daughter, Peggy McKenzie; son, Robert McKenzie. Survived by children: Steven McKenzie, Kathleen McKenzie, Brian McKenzie, Nancy Lungren (Max); 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; beloved nieces and nephews; numerous dear friends and fellow volunteers.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Friday, June 9, 11am, Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Josie Harper Hospice House.

I met Edna 48 years ago when I was a young Medicare nurse. Edna was a person that I enjoyed her humor but firm responsibility as "boss" to many people. She soon became my boss and was extremely kind but effective. A very fond memory was one day, long ago, when my phone rang early in the morning. She called me and said "Linda, do you want to come to work?" I have never jumped out of bed so fast. She was motherly and told me not to hurry so fast that I might have an accident on the way to work. I have lived in Kansas now for over 20 years but we talked on the phone occasionally. I gave her the beautiful Bradford Angel of Light when her son died. I hoped that it comforted her somewhat. I only found out just now that she passed away because a card that I sent her came back as undeliverable. I am so sorry for your loss because she was such a beautiful person here on earth but I have little doubt that she is loving where she is and who she is with now. We will all see her again later.

Edna was such a delightful person! She was a joy to be around. Her wit and sense of humor will be forever in the hearts of those who had the opportunity to know her. May she rest in peace and eternal light shine upon her. Love to you dear Edna. Lori

I am sorry for your loss. Edna and I worked together for several years. She went out of her way to support me in my time of extreme distress. She has kept in touch with me for many years and I, too, will miss her.

I´ve known Edna for around 50 years. I was just a rather lost teenager when I met her & her family. Daughter Kathy & I bonded quickly. We became great friends. We still are all these years later. We worked together, hung out together, concerts, malls and the the things young kids do. One thing I always loved was just being at Kathy´s home. It was mostly because of Edna´s big family, (sorry Kathy!) I just loved the big family & thinking back, it was also because of.Edna. She always asked me questions about how my life was going.. She was truly concerned. I felt it. She was interested and cared for and about me. She also was a true friend. I felt like one of the family & loved it. I lived in a small apartment with only my mom and myself. Edna was a Gem. Edna, you´ll never be forgotten by this girl as long as I´m here. Until we meet again. Heaven will love you as much as I did. Enjoy your new home & your loved ones. I know that they have been patiently waiting for your "time." They will love having you there. You did a wonderful job here with your kids & the one who felt like she was part of your family - me.
