Eleanor Anderson Obituary
ANDERSON-Eleanor Margarite (Shager), age 91, Co. Bluffs, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the 17th day of January 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 9. 1915 in Eau Claire, WI, Eleanor spent most of her youth in Fairbault, MN, when she granduated as a R.N. from Eitel Hospital Nursing School in Minneapolis in 1937. Eleanor met and fell in love with the love of her life, Rev. Philip R. Anderson, while attending Nursing School. They were married August 27, 1938. Eleanor lived a life marked by humor, warmth and compassion. She not only worked as an R.N., but also led many Humanitarian organizations within the American Baptist Association. Her love for the Lord was demonstrated by the example of her life time and time again to all she met.
Eleanor considered her family, whom she loved dearly, her crowning achievement. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Clara Shager; brother, Ronald; sister, Delores; husband, Philip and daughter-in-law, Linda Anderson. She is survived by son, David Anderson, of Topeka, KS; daughters, Phyllis Porter of Co. Bluffs, and Janet Booth of Olathe, KS; son-in-law, Jerry Booth; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. The life Eleanor lived was one of simplistic elegance and grace. Everyone who knew her will miss her warm, inviting smile. Nevertheless, we all rejoice at the new life she is beginning.
