The family of Elsie Goranson announces her peaceful passing September 30, 2010. Born to Joseph and Marie Dvorak July 3, 1920 in Ravinia, SD, Elsie, the twelfth of 13 children, lived on the family farm until her March 16, 1946 marriage to Willard Goranson (1918-2010). This union of nearly 64 years produced 3 children; Gary, Gail and Jan. Supportive, gracious and kind, Elsie is fondly remembered and her life celebrated by surviving sibling Kenneth Dvorak and his wife Ruth; daughter-in-law Kim Goranson; son-in-law Steve Bowder; granddaughters, Alyssa Thelen and husband Matt, Ondrea Siniari and husband Alex; grandsons, Brian Ervin and wife Stefani, Boyd Ervin, Dale Ervin, Gregory Howard and wife Heather and daughter Kaitlyn, Paul Howard and son Dillon. Elsie is also survived by cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her interests centered on making a home, raising her family, and ballroom dancing with Willard. She and Willard enjoyed the music and companionship of their dance friends well into their 70's. Elsie's grandchildren brought her joy and satisfaction. Family gatherings were her forte; good food, fun and wonderful memories. As a family, we thank a gracious God for the many years with which we were graced with Elsie's presence. The care she lavished upon Willard in his last years demonstrated the eternal nature of her devotion to him. We celebrate a life well lived. We thank our loving Heavenly Father for her gentle passing. We shall always hold Elsie in our hearts and minds.
Memorials suggested to Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church. VISITATION Monday, October 4, 11am-1pm, followed by a 1pm FUNERAL SERVICE at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park. WESTLAWN-HILLCREST
