To the Ervin Davis Family,

How do you describe such a kind and loving person as Ervin. KIND, LOVING and COURAGEOUS. He was the "Tin Man". He was the back up for any struggle that you may have. And yes, I agree, Curtisa, he always had a encouraging word. Ervin had his struggles, and demons, but he fought them courageously. He always had time to help others. Ervin was "the back up" for my family a couple of times. When I say "back-up" I mean you can COUNT on him to be there. He was always there for you - during the "long-haul" That's why its so difficult for all of us to realize that he's no longer with us. Ervin was tender in his feelings towards others. When you cried - he felt it. When you had joy - he felt it. This was a loving brother! I know that a many of times he's been there for my family - and vice versa. My mother, Mrs. Beason loved Ervin just as much as she loved "Big Ed". They both had a special place in her heart. Ervin had a tender spot in Mama's heart because she always could feel his heart. There was struggles that he had to overcome - and he did! Mama, Robert and I were always grateful for the help he gave to our family. During those tough Tech High Days - and then also after Tech became a shining star for the city of Omaha. Ervin was there during all those times. Even in Ervin's quiet demeanor you could feel his strength and courage. AND THIS BROTHER HAD A LOT OF BOTH! Robert is unable to write because of a anoxic brain inury due to a surgery last year - but I am writing for the both of us. Robert is still having difficulty realizing that Ervin and Ed is no longer here on this earth. It grieves us both. But we will remember how much Ervin's kind smile and helping hand served to make our community a better one. He encouraged us all because of his strengh and courage. I can recall some difficult times, but Ervin came out strong and better from those times. He touched the Beasons in a special way. And we will miss him greatly. Robert loved Ervin and Ed, and regrets that he let time slip away so much not to keep in touch. But I've told Robert that just knowing that your life has crossed is the blessing. We all can take something from Ervin Davis. To love courageously. Ervin you are a hero in all of our hearts!

God Bless to all of the Davis family and loved ones

Ervin, you left your legacy and made a big impact on all of our lives, and you will truly be missed, by everyone you have been around and dealt with. You were either the big brother or best friend to a lot of us. To the family your loss is my loss and all of our loss. But with God's help he is going to see you and all of us through this in time. God needed him more that us. The healing process is not easy and only with pray the healing makes us just that much stronger to witness to someone else that may be going through what we have already been through. May God keep his loving arms around you.

I know that wherever you are, God is and all is well and that you and Ed, Charles and Michael are having a Tech High reunion. You are a most beautiful soul. When I knew you at the Boys' Club you and Ed both had a ready smile and a warm embrace. Two gentlemen indeed. The last time I saw you, you were smiling that glorious smile and I know you are still smiling. You were so much loved.

Ervin,

I will never be able to express the love I have for you! You will never know how much your words of encourgement have made me the person I am today. You were not only my friend, you are the brother I always prayed for. You inspired me to be the person I am today. Through all of my accomplishments and failures in life you were always there for me to encourage me to continue to grow as a person. You will always live in my heart. God had his reason to take both ED and you home at this time and it is not for me to question him. I know that I now have a two beautiful gaurdian angels looking over me and I will forever remember your beautiful smile and your wet kisses on my cheeks.Your famous words "KEEP A STEPPIN" will echo in my mind and heart when our special group gathers. I know there will be a day when we will see each other again. So for now I will say rest and sleep in internal peace my friend and brother forever!

Your loved one has left this world

And has taken that Heavenly flight

It's supper-time there in Heaven

Where there's no parting nor night.

It was difficult to say "good-bye"

To the one you loved so very much

Trust in God and His divine plan

We hope you feel His gentle touch.

We pray God will Comfort you

And send Angels from above

Giving sweet peace within your heart

Surrounding you with Eternal Love.

We are sorry for your deep loss

There's so little we can find to say

You are in my thoughts and prayers

As we grieve with you today.

With Our Heartfelt Sympathy

Ervin,

We will miss you tremendously. You were like our brother. Anyone who really knew you, knew that you really loved your family and friends with a passion and you always let us know it. You were caring and always thoughtful. We will really miss you in Vegas with your threats to always "beat us down" at dominoes. You will be missed but not forgotten. We are so very thankful that we had the opportunity to speak with you before you left us, although we were many miles apart. We will cherish it for the rest of our lives.

To the family: Our hearts and prayers go out to you in your time of sorrow. But know that God never gives us more than we can bear. Ervin was loved by so many people.

God Bless you all.

To the family of Ervin, my deepest sympathy. I know how losing someone you so deeply love and care about, can place such a heavy burden on your heart. They say death is but a part of life and that we all must pass through. May God Bless and Keep you. To Ervin, my dear brother, I love you and will truly miss that smile and the way you wore those hats! No one wore them better than you, Mr. GQ! When I picture you, that's how I will remember you, my friend! May God Hold you in the Palm of His Hand.

To the family of Ervin Davis. It is so very hard to believe that when I was in town for the Christmas holiday, I was lucky enough to run into Erv at a grocery store. I heard a voice say "Payton", and to those who knew Erv, his voice was very memorable. I stopped and we talked for a few minutes. I am so fortunate to have been here, and talked to him for the final time on this earth, and now I must wait until I make it to heaven, to talk face-to-face with him again. Erv, anyone that knew you, the real you, will never forget you!!!!!

To the Davis Family:

“I pray that God will comfort and keep you in your hours of grief.”

In the message of the gospel we have also a message of hope, love, and life hereafter. We know the end of life here is not death, but life eternal. For even as Christ died and rose from the dead to live forever, so we, who have faith in Him, die to live eternally.

I believe that the memory of Ervin will always enrich beyond measure, the lives of his family and friends, until we can all rejoice together in the Glory of God in another place.

Breona and Family,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Breona, Peace is the divine gift of the ability to remain faithful, calm and patient in spite of the panic of unfulfilled dreams, unpleasant circumstances and unavoidable uncertainty.

John 14:1-3 says "Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And If I go and prepare a place for you I will come again, and rceive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

To the Ervin Davis family: Words alone cannot express my deepest condolences regarding your unexpected lost of Ervin, who meant so much to so many people. When I think of my very close friendship with him, my first thought is he and I were more like brothers than close friends. Ervin loved his family; he loved his "brothers"; his 1974 Tech High class mates; and, and he loved life and living! Ervin will forever be in all of our hearts, and I will hear Ervin's voice, and feel Ervin's presence throughout the rest of my life at different times. Ervin was one of the most courageous men I have ever known. A most fierce competitor; a man of fairness; a protector; and, of quick wit and humor. Ervin encompassed such depth of character and personality that he possessed more as one man than most men! Again, I express my condolences, but at the same time celebrate the life of my brother, Ervin Davis! I will miss seeing him, but look forward to joining him when it is my time to do so! Much love, Wilbur Dorsey

Ervin: I will dearly miss your "bright" smile, laughter and barbecue. You always brightened a room whenever you entered. You were one-of-a-kind and there will definitely be a "void" in all our lives without you. You are at peace now.

Dear friend,
