I will never forget the pen pal relationship I shared with this kind, thoughtful gentleman. I miss his wonderful, sometimes humorous, letters. I am grateful to have crossed paths with him and always enjoyed his letters, They brightened my day. Sending greetings to his family.

Dear Kohler family. I am related by marriage. Uncle Al(kohler)(Freds brother)was married to my Aunt Mary. I remember visits we had when Mary and Al lived on Hamilton St. I remember some good stories about Fred and his brothers. Such good memories. Memories that we will hold onto forever. The loss is so hard but we all share that with you. I would imagine that all the Kohler brothers and sister are together again playing Yahtzee. God Bless

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
