The time, 1967, I got wind of a dance show at KETV and went to be on it, it taped on Monday nights right before ALL STAR WRESTLING aired live. I started talks with George and soon he picked me up one his way to tape 7-Swings, in 1967 I was 15 but looked 17 and passed to be old enough for the show. I remember standing on the same corner on Saddle Creek and he picked me up in his blue Oldsmobile Vista Cruser station wagon. I also rode with him to do 7-Swings remotes at the Southroads, Crossroads, and Peony Park. We talked about our week and always tried to out joke each other during the ride. He didn't have to always give me a ride but he always did and I really looked up to him, and just riding and talking, I got to hear the other George voice and he did have a golden voice. I left Omaha in 1975 but in my teen years, I had the honor of knowing George The Voice Murphy and my best teen life friend and mentor. God Bless my friend.....GEORGE

George was a wonderful man, he was a great friend to my Mom and a great supporter of my not so wonderful talents. George gave me my some wonderful memories, Being the model for the Ratigan Rhoden commercials during creature feature, Murph at the Movies, the Jerry Lewis Telethon, and many shows for City slicker magazine. George had a dynamic voice, but even a bigger heart! Many wonderful times at Anthony's and where ever we ended up celebrating the night! Thanks for your friendhip and all the very fond memories. May God keep you announcing, he probably made room at the pearly gates! You will be missed, God Bless!

Murph, I have known you for a long time. I have a birthday card from my 5th birthday that is signed by you, Lee Terry Sr. and some others from back in the day. My youngest daughter remembers you most for your commercial voice and for you filling her overall pockets with candy when we would visit you at your house. Your voice was golden... Your jokes and stories, never fell on a deaf ear.... I will miss you, but knowing that you are with your beloved wife, and with George Jr. brings some peace. You were a kind and giving man. God is gaining an angel... †

I remember George from his Channel 7 days, as the voice of Sunset Speedway. I'll never forget when I was chosen to drive the mystery car at Sunset. George interviewed me and I think I was lost for words. Also remember George with his wrestling announcing for the old AWA. Occasionally will see him on ESPNClassic when they show some of the old matches from different places. My dondolences to the family. Rest in peace George.

I'll always remember George & his wife Judy as such great friends & neighbors on Ogdan St. I babysat their 3 boys regularly. When he asked me to get my friends together for the first 7 Swings show, I was delighted. I had such a great time each week being with George on this fun adventure. His voice was so distinctive! When I heard it I always knew it was my friend George. Sending thoughts & prayers to Mike, Kevin & your families.

I have known George for many a years and am proud to be able to say that. He was a very kind and wonderful man and I totally loved hearing ALL his stories, no matter how many times I heard them!! I first knew George as a younger woman as "The Voice of Nebraska". His voice was One of a Kind! I enjoyed the many times I got him out of his chair to dance at "Anthony's". He loved dancing to the song "Celebrate"!
I always loved seeing George and I will forever be missing him until we see each other again some day.
Good Bye George.
