Gerry Haynie Obituary

Geraldine LaVonne (Olsen) Haynie was born on a farm located two miles west of Underwood, IA, the youngest of five children, to Harry A. and Helen M. (Petersen) Olsen.
Gerry attended rural Garner #3 Schoolhouse and then graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, IA, with the Class of 1944.
Thankful for sharing her life are daughters, Karen (Bruce) Curry and Kathy (Larry) Jacobson; granddaughters, Kylen and Brenna Curry; special friend, Dan Doner, his children, Mindy and Troy, and their children; as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, parents, in-laws; brothers, Eldon, Ivan, and Donald Olsen; sister, Eileen Roenfeld; sisters-in-law, Ethel, Donna Mae, and Margie Olsen and Marge Haynie; brothers-in-law, Elmer Roenfeld and Cletis Haynie; nephews, Edward, Gary, and David Olsen, Larry and Timothy Haynie; and special friend, Judy Doner.
VISITATION: Monday, July 8, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10 a.m., all at Cutler O'Neill Meyer Woodring Funeral Home. BURIAL at Ridgewood Mausoleum with a luncheon to follow, at the Walnut Hill Reception Center.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their favorite charity in Gerry's name or tributes can be directed to her estate fund to assist with the expenses to bring her back to Iowa.
