I offer my condolences to Homer's wife, Myung, and his two children.
Homer and I worked together at Nance Engineering from 1967 to 1972, both as draftsmen. He was, undoubtedly, the best in the city. He was proud to sign his work with" HRH" and clients starred and marveled at his drawn plats noting his unmatched talent at lettering (alphabetical penmanship). He was respected by all, not only for his talent but for his honesty, integrity and just decent mannerisms. He was my friend. We talked very recently, and I was aware of his condition. I recently gave him new-found details of our boss, Fred Nance, during WW2 and we were both amazed. His ship was torpedoed in the South Pacific in 1944, and he had to hang on the side of it for a day and a night until rescued. Fred Nance never mentioned that unforgettable episode in his life even though we talked to him every day. Homer was reserved, quiet and never got angry nor used any profanity in any situation. He loved a good joke but, I'm sure, never re-told it. He was a marine and extremely proud of it. I, too, fit that category and always forwarded him, by text or email, various video clips showing boot-camp footage or simple marching with yelled-out cadence. He was one of those few and proud to be a marine and mentioned it at least once in all our conversations. Homer worked for me part-time then full-time as a draftsman while I had my surveying firm. I shall miss Homer Hunt as I consider him one of the finest persons I have ever met.
