I was very sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. He was a colleague, friend, and my department chair in the School of Communication at UNO for many years. I always greatly admired his humanity, competence, and kindness in dealing with others. My life has been greatly enriched from knowing Hugh. I am very sorry to hear of his passing, but I will always cherish the wonderful memories I have of him. I always held him up as a wonderful example of a life well lived. He was a great role model for me and many others. Rest in peace, Hugh.

I was very sorry to read about Hugh's death this morning. I took a class from Hugh when I was in graduate school at UNO. Then later, I was the Benefits Manager at UNO. Hugh was one of my favorite retirees. I was so happy to add Catherine to Hugh's retiree benefits as his spouse when they got married in 2007. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Best wishes, Esther Scarpello
