Jim was born June 9, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Helen (Valmont) Belmont.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; children Becky (Bill), Matt (Sara), Tim (Laura), and Sarah (Carson); grandchildren Haley, Nick, Mia, and Elizabeth; and brother Jerry.
James was preceded in death by his mother and eight siblings.
