Very sad to hear of your passing, Great Uncle Jerry. I am the grandson of your big Sister Mildred, and I have very fond memories of you from my childhood in Omaha. You always were so nice & funny, and great to be around, and I really wish I could have known you better in my adult life.
You always reminded me so much of my Grandmother, and we were very close.
I hope the rest of the Pokorny families are healthy and doing well... my heart goes out to you all.
With much love and respect.

We are so sorry for your loss. I remember how Jerry used to have "a little" cream (just two drops!) with his coffee! What a joker! He will be missed.
Our prayers are with you and your family.

My name was Lois Gamerl...The Pokorny family and the Gamerls' have been friends since we were "still in diapers". We knew Emily, Martha, Elisabeth, Mildred , Anton and Jerry, They lived on Gilmore Ave and we lived on Monroe ST....A nicer family then they were hard to find, Anton and I started Kindergarten together and also High School. Jerry and Evelyn lived next door to my sister, Sylvia and George Vilim for years. So many of us are gone now. I feel very sad for your loss. I feel like I lost a member of the family. My prayers are with all the family...An old family friend, LOIS Hassett(Gamerl)

We'll always remember Uncle Jerry for the way that he made us all laugh & smile. He always had time for all the kids - much to the chagrin of the adults he was visiting. He had fun teaching us Bohemian as well as introducing us to Czech music. Uncle Jerry instilled a love for woodworking, model aircraft, rum balls and baboofka (sp?) that I have to this day. We still don't know exactly what 'butchkie' meant (he used to love to use the word now & then just for fun). Uncle Jerry, may you enjoy your music and your pivo with Suzi (his faithful dog) and all your friends until we join you in Heaven. God bless.

A great uncle. Always had time for kids of all ages - made us laugh and smile. Taught us Bohemian including love for the music. Learned to love woodworking, model aircraft, rum balls and baboofka from the man. Still not sure what "butchke" means (he loved to use the word every now & then). Uncle Jerry, may you be enjoying your music and your pivo with Suzi (your faithful dog) and all your friends up in Heaven. God bless.
