My first vivid memory of Joan was when she visited my family in Oakland. I was just a young kid and my mom and dad were so excited that she was coming. At the time, Joan was working for Lawrence Welk. I remember her as being very fashionable and gregarious.
Years later, when I had my own family, she always remembered our children´s birthdays with a card. This meant so much to our children that when I told them about her passing, Kevin remarked about the birthday cards.
She will be missed!
