Preceded in death by parents, Margaret and Merle Blacketer and brothers, Barry and Jim. Survived by wife Elaine, son Aaron (Julie), daughter Jill and sisters, Linda, Nancy (David) and Martha.

Private family services with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the University of Nebraska Foundation to benefit the Blacketer College of Continuing Studies Scholarship Fund, 1010 Lincoln Mall, Suite 300, Lincoln, NE 68508. Gifts may also be made online at

God Bless the Blacketer Family, prayers and many thoughts of the Blacketer family. My dad and Merle worked at the post Office in Omaha. I grew up with Barry, Nancy and Linda. Jim was the little one. Barry and I were in almost every class together at Florence Grade School.
