John Mordeson Obituary
April 22, 1934 - November 8, 2025
John Mordeson, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, leaving behind many loving family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; his children, John (Brigid), Mary Wade (Jim), Mike (Robert), Mark (Christy), and Maggie Robinson (Todd); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nephew, John Klemiato.
He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Charles and Margaret Mordeson; his sister, Rosemary Klemiato; and his granddaughters, Mary Pat and Christine Marie.
The family will host a visitation at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries, 1010 North 72nd Street, Omaha, NE, on November 25 from 6 to 7 p.m. with a vigil service to follow. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on November 26th at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 4710 North 90th Street, Omaha, Neb., followed by a luncheon. To Dr. Mordeson's dear family: We at Creighton University offer our heartfelt condolences to you all. We pray that the Lord he served so faithfully now holds him close in eternal life. We owe him an enormous debt of gratitude for over 50 years of prodigious research, exceptional teaching, and fruitful leadership. He was the model of a scholar-educator and, as a man of faith, saw his efforts as a way to serve God. We pray that the Lord blesses him now with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
