John Tapio Obituary
March 16, 1953 - January 28, 2023
John passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was preceded by parents, Louis and Jean; and son, Adam Tapio.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; daughter, Stephanie; grandson, Rocket; beloved siblings, Rich and Carol, Jim and Dodi, Alice and Terry Diaz, Kathleen Tapio, Robert and Carmen, Michael and Mark Tapio; as well as several nephews and nieces.
The family is planning a MEMORIAL SERVICE for Friday, March 17th, 11am at the Omaha National Cemetery.

I knew John for a few years. Scott, John, and I would hang out at Scott's apartment and shoot the breeze. I always found him to be kind, gentle, honest, and trustworthy. He was a good friend, and a good man. The world was better off with him in it. Love to his family.

John, this is your big brother Rich. It was so odd that Carol and I were in Omaha to honor at Boys Town another BT Boy named John when in fact the trip brought us too your bedside. It was a profusely proud moment for us to be with you. You are the first of the 8 of Jean and Taps kids to make the journey. On behalf of all the Boys Town Alumni and all the Veterans that, old and new, you made friends with during the Navy and Veterans Hospiital visits. Your family says, "straight ahead, and on until morning." Rest our brother. Rich and Carol, Richie, Jason and Ryan.
