Longtime member of West Omaha Rotary.
Faithful parishioner of St. Joan of Arc and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by daughters, Theresa Fitzgerald and Susan Hughes; brothers, Anthony and Charles; and sister, Anastasia. Survived by wife, Edie; daughters, Karen Ann DeHeer and Christine (Stephen) Johnson; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Celeste (Rex) Earl.
VIGIL SERVICE: Monday, May 9th, 7pm at West Center Chapel, with family Receiving friends from 5-7pm.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Tuesday, May 10th, 10:30am, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. ENTOMBMENT: Resurrection Mausoleum, with full Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to the Children's Respite Care Center.

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Joe's passing. Even though he was not my uncle, he and Aunt Edie deserved the love and respect of the title. When I was a young person, he had my admiration and as an adult, he was a great role model. He had such a quiet demeanor and also a strong way about him. His proof is that he lived in a house with his wife and 3 girls, ha!
