Colorado Springs, CO. Josephine M. (Knievel) Thiele passed away on January 1, 2014 in the comfort of her home in Colorado Springs. Josephine was born on April 4, 1926 in Clearwater, NE to Joseph and Mary Knievel. She married Charles M. Thiele in July 1946 in Omaha, NE. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1971. Josephine was a devoted mother and wife, whose faith and family was always first and foremost in her heart. Josephine was well known in the Avon community as she was a representative for over 40 years. She was also a wonderful cook and her home style cooking will be missed. She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Thiele; her parents; and seven siblings. She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Charles; her daughters, Barbara Schiefelbein of Papillion, NE, and Rosemary (Lloyd) Apricio of Elbert, CO; her sons, Dick (Teri) Thiele of Blair, NE, Gary (Robin) Thiele of Pueblo, CO, Jim (Dianne) Thiele of Woodland Park, CO; daughter-in-law, Sandra Thiele of Colorado Springs, CO; twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 12-2pm with a Rosary following at 2pm at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO. FUNERAL SERVICE WITH MASS Monday, January 6, 2014 at 12pm at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 North Logan Ave., Colorado Springs. Josephine was my great aunt on my dads (Larry Knievel) side. I haven't seen her, Chuck or the kids in many years, but they were always one of my favorites to visit growing up. My thoughts & prayers are with you all at this time and always. Rest in peace sweet Josephine you were loved by all who knew you & will be dearly missed.
