In looking back at the loving people I have encountered in my life, I thought of "Mr. Argersinger". He was one of our football coaches at AL. Out in that hot and humid then muddy and cold field every day with us. He was a great guy and dealt with us all as if we were champs. Him and Mike Batten made my high school football days magic and I will always thank them for their kindness.

I sat next to Larry my senior year in homeroom. He was thoughtful, kind, smart, humble and so athletic. I was honored to be able to sit by him. Larry was genuinely caring and supportive. Even though he had such a presence on campus, one wouldn´t know it from his demeanor.

I know that after college, he coached and taught on the high school level. Just knowing him, I believe he was a positive force in the lives of hundreds of students. There is no better tribute than to impact the lives of young people. As a high school and part time college instructor, I realized the importance of my position. I know Larry felt the same.

A measure of a person´s life is the number of people touched by his presence. He will always be the awesome person I knew so many years ago.

Larry and I grew up together from pre-school through college. Our houses were back to back and we played together almost every day. Larry was the center when I played QB at Monroe JH, and later we were side by side as seniors at BHS when I moved to guard. We also played baseball, basketball, and track on the same teams. Gene and Dee were always wonderful to me. Naturally we picked on little brother Craig from time to time. "The Arg" was just a genuine person who was a great friend and with a wonderful nature and a great sense of humor. I'm sure he will be missed by all. And Craig, my thoughts are with you and I wish you all the best in this difficult time.

Sorry for your loss Craig. Larry was one of the most humble people I´ve ever known. I´m so glad we were able to communicate these last six months. When we were young Larry took me under his wing at Benson during football season. He was a true friend and I miss him dearly. God Bless you and your family.

Mr. Argersinger,
Was an inspiring man, a gym teacher and workout coach at AL. He was always cheerful, encouraging and really wanted to make a difference in the lives of young people. He stayed young at heart, loved walking and jogging with our class, helpful in the weight room and showed us the best exercises to keep fit, especially lunges, he liked them a lot. Even after all these years, he has made an impact on my life. He was a great man and one most of us teens actually wanted to listen to. A very humble, kind man. May he continue to shine

Larry was my brother Richard´s best friend throughout BHS and well beyond. Not only was Larry a superb athlete and coach he was the definition of a loyal friend. He supported my brother as he slipped into dementia (he died in 2020) and Larry was always there for him. Truly a stand up guy.

Larry is in almost every memory I have of events that were such an important part of my "Wonder Years" experiences. My sister coined him the gentle giant at BHS because he was kind to everyone.
God Bless and Protect the Argersinger family at this time....and to Larry....let your spirit soar in the heavens until we all meet again.

I sat next to Larry in home room my senior year at Benson High. Larry was a thoughtful, hardworking, kind, and generous person. Despite his athletic abilities, he was humble and rarely mentioned any of his outstanding feats. I am certain he was a mentor to all he taught and coached. That´s who he was. He led by example. We have lost a truly outstanding person, a caring person who would want us to continue helping and supporting those in need. Twila Andreasen Cook

Larry was one of the 54th Street boys who played together, went ice skating, played sand lot ball games and got in trouble together. I was a week older than Larry and we went to the same schools, church, scout meetings and candy store. Last time I talked to Larry at BHS reunion, he was planting grape vines. Wish I could have helped.
