Martha Anne Watson, of Bellevue, Nebraska, died December 16, 2025, at the age of 85, after a long illness. Martha was born February 2, 1940, in Oxford, Nebraska, to Horace Egelston and Lorine Eggers. She graduated from Alma High School, Alma, Nebraska, in 1958. In 1961, Martha entered Federal Civil Service and was employed at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, at Headquarters Strategic Air Command, United States Strategic Command, and then at Defense Finance and Accounting Service as an executive assistant. In 1966, Martha married William Watson of Mansfield, Missouri, and they had two children, Lisa and Brian. Martha retired from Civil Service in 2005 after 32 and a half years of service. A recipient of multiple Civilian of the Year awards throughout her career, the highlight of her career was being chosen as the executive assistant for the Committee for the Inactivation of Strategic Air Command and the Activation of the United States Strategic Command. We remember Martha for her love of God, family, and country. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa and son-in-law, Byron Olsen, Jr. of Elkhorn, Nebraska; son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Gwen of Waelder, Texas; three grandchildren, Joshua Olsen of Sargent, Nebraska, Elizabeth Olsen of Elkhorn, Nebraska, and Bryce Jacobs of Lockhart, Texas; other relatives, and friends.
