Mary Borchers Obituary
December 18, 1930 - August 30, 2024
Mary Ann Borchers, born 12/18/1930 in Denver, CO and died 8/30/2024 in Omaha NE. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Al Borchers. She is survived by her sons Albert, Andrew, Brian, and Bruce, three grandchildren, and four great grand children.
Mary Ann grew up in Denver Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mary Ann married Al Borchers in 1952. They were married for 48 years. She worked as a math teacher in Wheatridge Colorado while Al finished an engineering degree. Al's work took them to several cities before the family settled in Omaha. Mary Ann was an expert in knitting, crochet, needlework, and other fiber arts. She exhibited her work at the state fair. She ran a yarn shop called the Strawberry Tree. Mary Ann and Al loved traveling and visited many foreign countries.

Mary Ann and Al were our neighbors in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in the late 1980s. Through the years we kept in touch. Today, we leaned of her death. We are very sorry for your loss.

Mary ann we will miss you we learned a lot about knitting, , you always knew the answer or had solutions for us and kept us going, and you always had a good book for us to read , my thoughts and prayers are with you sorry for your loss , we will miss you !
