Mary Doucette Obituary

Doucette, Mary Kathleen "Mary Kay" (LaBute)

Age 72. Passed away at her home in Colorado surrounded by family on March 12, 2023. Mary Kay was born in Lincoln Park MI, the youngest of three children, and only daughter to Deo T. and Mary Theresa LaBute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Tom and Ted.

Mary Kay is survived by her husband of 47 years, William "Bill" Doucette; her daughter, Lindsy (Tom), and grandchildren: River (10), Cooper (7), and Marcel (7); and her daughter, Terra (Jesse), and grandchildren: Vivian (13) and Juliette (10).

A 1969 graduate of Cathedral High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. In 1975, Mary Kay married Bill. They went on to start Surgical Specialties, Inc., a multi-state Orthopedic Distribution Company in 1979 which they owned together until they happily retired in 2005. Mary Kay loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. We will miss her very much.

The family will host an informal Celebration of Life in Omaha, date and location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or the Lustgarten Foundation.

Having Mary Kay as an aunt truly was a blessing. With such a kind heart and infectious laughter she filled a room with a lightness not many carry. She was always happy and looked at the world with a curious excitement. I loved Being around her. My heart is with you Uncle Bill, Lindsy & Terra. I love You all.
