Michael Gamerl Obituary
He was born June 23, 1936 to Joseph and Barbara Gamerl in Omaha, Nebraska and is predeceased by older sister and brother-in-law Lorraine and Pat Dodge and is survived by younger brother and sister-in-law Joseph Jr. and Jean Gamerl as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Mike's honor to the following organizations who have been so integral to the last several years of his life: Sally's Fund (ride service) , The Susi Q (senior center) , Age Well (meals) , and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Services will be held Saturday December 6, 2025 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 1042 Temple Terrace, Laguna Beach.

He was such a kind snd dear man and a devoted parishioner at St Catherine´s Church!! He was the true salt of the earth and embodied the real American spirit !!!! We´ll not see his likes again !!!

It is with deep sadness and sympathy that I send our condolences to the Gamerl family. Mike and I worked together for Raytheon in1968-1970 in Okinawa. Upon my new assignment Mike was my Shift Leader, he also had just been certified as a SCUBA instructor and convinced me to take his first teaching class which I eagerly did. We had many great dives in the beautiful Okinawa waters along with great dinners cooked by Ko with fish we caught.
I remember he shared with me one of his worst Marines assignments, being 1 of 6 on a Navy ship, it seems that every time the ship came into port, the Marines had to have chipping and painting duty. The last time I saw Mike was in Boston while he was working for Fuji on a business trip. Mike will be dearly missed by all.
