Kyra, Anna, Phil & family;
A light from your family is gone and a voice 'we' loved is stilled. God leaves us precious memories to help us through our tears. I can say at least two years with Mike were great, and it's those years I will keep the memories close to me. Kyra, please know your dad loved you very much.

My father was a good man. When he smiled he would light up the room, hence the reason for his fit nickname "Smiley". I just want my dad to know I was there in spirit when his ashes were sprinkled in our favorite fishing spot. Dad Im sorry your family made a poor choice that day but you know I lived for you and that I love you. Now the spirits from above took you away. I <3 You with all of my heart and all of my soul.

Although Mike was a cousin older than myself, the age and miles difference (I'm in St. Louis) did not separate the feeling of family one would get being fortunate enough to have known Mike. My families thoughts and prayers are with the entire Protaskey family, especially Aunt Annie, Uncle Phil and my cousins. We are sorry we couldn't be there but know that Mike is up there as I write this just giving his relatives that have passed a hard time, spreading his joy and looking down over all of us who loved him.

I'd like to remember Mike as "Smiley" from the Western Village days. He was always upbeat and smiling! Just a very nice person. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
