January 26, 1960 - October 26, 2023
Michael Swanson, age 63. Preceded in death by son, Austin Swanson; the mother to his children, Joan Swanson and parents, Lee & Marjorie Swanson. Survived by sons, James and Brandon Swanson; grandsons, Owen Swanson, Ares Miner; brothers, Curt Swanson (Gail Ginger), Arden (Karen) Swanson; significant other, Roxanne Schmidt and a host of other loving family and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday (11/9/2023) at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th Street, Omaha, NE. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. with Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA. Memorials to the family for later designation.

I am privileged to have known Mike for more than three decades of friendship, humor, working together, at least a few beverages, a trip to Cabo, his rich history of experiences, philosophy and caring for those around him.
I knew him as a skilled plumber before I realized that I could challenge him to put his precision soldering and fitting talents to work as Mike, the Artist. He crafted copper railings at my home nearly 30 years ago that remain as beautiful today as when he perfectly wire textured and assembled them, all from stock pipe. As he finished the railings, only Mike would say he regretted that he could not turn on the water to test and find zero leaks anywhere in the piping - his high standard.
My condolences go out to all in his family and friends who he openly shared and added his blessings in life with.
What a good guy!! A toast to Mike, Belvedere for sure!

Mike was my brother in law since I was about 10 years old & always smiling and quick with a joke. My deepest condolences go out to my dearest nephews Brandon who is also my godson & James. I´m so sorry you two sure have had a few rough years we all have!!! I´m always here for you if you ever need anything. I love you both!!
