MSG Tietjens Obituary

MSG Noah L. Tietjens

March 5, 1983 - March 1, 2026

MSG Noah Lee Tietjens, a devoted husband, father, son, identical twin, brother, and esteemed serviceman, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 1, 2026, while serving his country in Kuwait. Born on March 5, 1983, in El Paso, TX, Noah grew up in a proud military family. Noah's father was in the Air Force then later joined the Army Reserves. After Noah witnessed both his brothers deployements Noah embraced his calling to serve our country. Noah's journey through life touched many communities. Educated in the Ord Public School system and later at Scottsbluff Schools, Noah graduated from Bellevue West, where he laid down roots and found the love of his life, Shelly Perris. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, adventures, and the joy of raising their beloved son, Dylan. Before dedicating his life to the military in 2006, Noah managed a Hardee's restaurant, where he was admired for his leadership and camaraderie. His love for nation and service was evident as he courageously participated in several deployments. Noah's military career was distinguished by numerous awards, including the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and many others. He was a decorated soldier whose service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Noah's interests extended beyond his military commitments. A 1st-degree black belt, he and his family practiced Philippine Combatives, sharing both the discipline and joy it brought. Time spent with family was precious to Noah; he loved playing Pokémon Go with Dylan, exploring new recipes in the kitchen, and creating lasting memories at the shooting range with his grandfather and brothers. Noah's spirit of generosity and willingness to help others knew no bounds, making him a beloved figure in his community and within the Creighton ROTC. He leaves behind a legacy of love and honor, survived by his devoted wife, Shelly; son, Dylan; parents, William and Glenda Tietjens; and brothers, Nicholas and Will. His loss is profoundly felt by all who knew him. Arrangements are entrusted to Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests memorials to be directed to them in support of Dylan's future endeavors and in honor of Noah's enduring legacy. Noah's life was a testament to service, courage, and love. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those he touched.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service is private.
