Dear family,
My condolences goes out to you for the loss of your loved one Phyllis. I know that it is a painful time for you but the bible holds out hope for those that fell asleep in death. In the bible at Job 14:14, 15 Job asked the question if an able bodied man can live again. God reassures us at Hosea 13:14 that "He will redeem and recover thaoe who are in Sheol (or the common grave)." In God's new world God will raise loved ones back to life where no one will ever have to get sick, suffer or die.

I am so very sorry to hear about your loss of such an amazing, wonderful, woman, you've known and loved dearly as Mom,Grandma and Great-Grandma. To me she will always be that strong willed, high-sprited,determined ,gifted lady that I had the privilege of calling my friend .I remember the day I told her that I had never voted in my life, I thought she was going to fall off her chair! I had forgot to tell her the last time I saw her that I finially registered to vote last year. I will miss seing her special license plates around Bellevue. She truely was a special lady - THAT GRANDMA BEAR !

When I went on Internaional Staff in 1976 I met Phillis. At those Christmas staff dinners my wife could not attend Phillis was my date. She always called me the kid. After I retired I would be surprised by Phillis showing up at JJ days in Des Moines. She was a great labor person and Democrat. But most of all a true friend and buddy. I will miss you but I know Carl will show you the ropes. See you on the other side.
My wife is having surgery today so we will not be attending her service but you will all be in our prayers.
Love,
Craig and Rosemary Hoepner

Bill, Ed, Judy & families,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mother's passing. She was so sick even before I left for Seattle to spend Christmas with my son and family. I am grateful I did get to see her after her first surgery, but she didn't know Bill and I were there. I will miss her so much. We enjoyed our long telephone conversations and lunches since we met after I came back to Omaha. Jean introduced her, and after she passed we often got together. It was Phyllis that urged me to get active with the Demos. I kept Russ Mundorf informed when she got ill. I tried all last week to reach him to learn yesterday when I called the retirement home that her best friend in the labor movement had passed the Monday before her. We had planned to go to Lincoln together to have lunch with him as last year he stopped driving, but then she got ill. Over the past years we would all 3 meet at that J restaurant off the Interstate for a good lunch. They enjoyed getting together so much. Now they can talk & talk, laugh and laugh.
I won't get back in time for the funeral as I am supposed to arrive at 4:15 on Wed. I tried to change my reservations but was unable to do so.
God bless you all.
