Survived by wife Jackie; daughters, Brittany (DJ) Klusaw, Amity (Kevin) Kennedy; son, Paul (Alex) Kuta; grandchildren: Tessa, Ellie, Cooper, Preslee, Isabella, Everleigh, and Calvin; special cousins, Debi and Greg Hartl, Letha Feeney, and Aunt Betty Marinkovich.

Omaha Firefighter for 31 years and owner of Kuta's Korner Bar from 1994-2006.

In honor of Ray and his love of food, memorials can be sent to the Food Bank for the Heartland, Catholic Charities, or another charity which holds a special place in your heart. Private family service with a celebration of life later in the year to share your funny stories about Ray.

I had so much fun working with Ray. He was part of my dream team, at 31s, Bio (Jim Biodrowski), Stosh(Stan Simon), and Ray(crowd control), aka, "the enforcer". The stories are endless! Hated that I couldn't visit him. He may be gone, but Ray lives on in our hearts and minds.

Ray always had a big heart & a big smile. He was a loyal friend. I still use his mom´s chili recipe, he was so proud of her. My sympathies to his family from an old friend (mid-1960´s) Donna in Texas

I am so sorry to hear about Ray's passing. My family was friends with his while I was growing up. I remember his family, including aunts and cousins (Debbie Feeney was one of my best friends growing up). I'll say prayers for the family.

I am fortunate to be able to say that Ray Kuta is my uncle. Growing up in Louisiana, my sister and I would spend most of our summers in Omaha visiting my grandparents. One of the things I looked forward to most on my visits was spending time with my uncle. We would go to movies, play at the arcade, spend time at the firehouse and most importantly visit the local bars to see his friends so he could show off his niece and nephew (I loved ordering root beer thinking I was so cool). Uncle Ray was funny, kind, a bit crazy, and exactly what an uncle should be. He let me get away with things my parents would never let me do like staying up until the wee hours of the morning watching movies on Showtime and Cinemax. I looked up to him and wanted to be like him. Unfortunately, as it happens many times as we get older, I didn´t spend much time with my uncle after my childhood as I was busy building my own life and family. However, that will never take away the great memories I have of him and hopefully he felt the same way. He will always fill a special place in my heart. RIP Uncle Ray.....I love you.
