Rebecca Sowden Obituary
Becky was an incredible student and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society at Mills College, Berkley, California in 1978. She was a ferocious reader, animal lover, kind friend, and lifetime equestrian – her great love.
Preceded in death by her parents Robert Stephenson and Helen Stephenson, and two brothers Bobby Stephenson (Helen) and Scott Stephenson (Cheryl). Becky is survived by her husband of 40 years, Tom Sowden; her daughter, Nicole Williams (Eugene); brother, Mark Stephenson; brother, Wes Stephenson (Caroline); stepchildren, Mary Stervinou (Louis) and Peter Sowden (Lindsay); step-grandchildren, Luc, Lane, Chloe, Blake and Joe; and two grandchildren, Romy and Olivia.
Becky's grandchildren – the loves of her life – affectionately called her "Gramma".
A memorial service will be held on December 8, 2025, at 3 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church in Overland Park, Kansas.
