Richard Hove Obituary

Richard J. "Dick" Hove

Richard J. "Dick" Hove passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025. He was 87 years old.

Born in Minden, NE, Dick lived most of his life in Nebraska. He was a practicing attorney in Kearney, Lexington, and Lincoln. He also retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army after over 20 years of service in the Active Army, Nebraska National Guard, and the Army Reserve.

Dick was a loving husband to Sally and Sandy, a proud father to Andy, Scott and Chris, and an adoring grandfather to Drew, Ryan, Taylor, Morgan, Will, Jayden, and Jacob. He also cherished his one great-grandchild, Colt.

He is survived by Andy and Sherry Hove of Franklin, Michigan, Scott and Cheryl Hove of Omaha, Nebraska, Shelly Blinde of Kearney, Nebraska, Drew Hove of Auburn Hills, Michigan, Ryan and Leila Hove of Omaha, Nebraska, Carson and Taylor Jaeger of Kearney, Nebraska, Morgan Hove of Omaha, Nebraska, Will Hove of Auburn Hills, Michigan, Jayden Hove of Kearney, Nebraska, Jacob Hove of Omaha, Nebraska and Colt Jaeger of Kearney, Nebraska.

A Celebration of Life event will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 2-5p.m., at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr., Lincoln, NE. Prior private inurnment at Omaha National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed towards The Shriner's Hospital for Children. Roperandsons.com.
