Sandra Hoyle Obituary

Sandra Mae Hoyle

November 4, 1954 - March 12, 2024

Sandra Mae Hoyle was born November 4th, 1954 at Doctor's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska to Steven Bebee Hoyle and Leona (Jones) Hoyle. Sandy loved nature and animals and some of her favorite times were the summers that she spent at her grandparents farm in Kansas when she was a girl. Later in life she enjoyed the beauty and serenity of Muir Woods in California, another of her favorite places. Sandy's love of nature and beauty gave her a keen eye; she excelled in painting and drawing. At one time she was offered a position at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. She declined the offer, choosing to stay in Omaha with her mother who was a widow at the time. When they weren't working they enjoyed traveling to antique shows and flea markets together. Her father, who had been an army corporal in World War I, worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. He died at age 66 when Sandy was 3. Her mother worked as a seamstress at Applemans Sewing Company and Pendleton Woolen Mills for many years and later worked in the home of the Marcotte familly. She died at the age of 78. Sandy was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Omaha and also The Omaha Art Institute. She worked at numerous jobs in Omaha including: Brandeis Department Store (advertising), The American Red Cross (commercial art), Joslyn Art Museum (security), Eppley Airfield (security), and Omaha Public Power District (security). She also worked briefly for a police department in New York state (clerical). Sandy was a loyal and loving person with a quick wit, an intelligent mind and a keen edged sense of style. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother. Sandra passed at her home in Omaha on March 11th or 12th, 2024. She is survived by friends and family. Sandy loved her dogs and all animals; memorials should be sent to any no-kill animal shelter.

I did not personally meet Sandra but might have, if she was born between 1961 and 1965. I am a retired RN since 2006 and was Day supervisor at Doctor's Hospital between 61 and 65. It was a great little hospital where you could know everyone. I left when my husband was transferred to California,
because of his job.
